December 21st is different this year..coz it’s the birthday of 2 group members : Ka Keat and Kok King.the 2 KKs are 3 years apart : K.Keat, 25 and K.King, 22. Celeb info :

It’s been quite some time since we really dine out.  So we really took our time selecting from the menu, looking for smth that might be mouth watering enough..the price of the food is quite standard. Qualitywise, the food in another Uzbek restaurant near rechnoi vokzal is better.Anyway, all of us ordered different dishes..both the birthday boys had Manti (dumplings), some ordered Soups, different salads, Strudels, Cheesecake, Plov, Fishies, tea..nantha is still vegetarian til end of Dec..kesian him..hehe.. he only had cheesecake, cappuccino and fries..K.Kaet brought along his Nikon camera and the whole time we were in the restaurant, his camera kept clicking..afterall, people and food are his favorite subjects when it comes to photography. Kok King got a cap and muffler as his birthday present, while Ka Keat received a cap and half-gloves..mm…munching+ chatting + cam-whoring is definitely smth our group enjoy.. A  LOT~! after everyone cleaned their plates and bowls, Kok King asked for the cheque.and we spent around 15 mins calculating and recalculating the money collected for the payment..hehe..medic students.. (^_^)  today has been a day well spent so far…

another subject picisan? traumatology ~

after 2 days of traumatology cycle, it seems that we used most of our time in the class playing BINGO and battleship, got busted by the MMC and embassy gang, played more BINGO, watched videos on war medicine and managing patient with cardiac arrest..not sure how much we’ll learn from this subject..from the name, it sounds like a cycle where we get to see some interesting, fresh injuries and how to manage them..but so far, nothing fascinating has popped out..maybe it’s just a cycle that has been fitted into our schedule so we have no free time to just relax in the room and snooze all day..i hope the cycle would be more interesting after this..so far, what i found was interesting was when i saw the twin sister of our previous Neurology Professor (Vera Naumovna) on the board in the Traumatology Department. Her twin sister’s name is Anna Naumovna.. (^_^) after like 2 hours of waiting,the skin graft procedure that kok king and i were supposed to watch today was somehow not done/re-scheduled or smth..dunno what’s it gona be like tmrw..we’ll just have to wait and see ~

got an extra hour of sleep last nite (daylight saving day~!) and woke up with a sore throat and somewhat discomfort,ulcer-like feeling on the gums..just got bored…thought of writing smth up before i get back to studying ophthalmo for exam on tuesday..ok…done writing smth already…  =p  back to studying.

ieja’s 1st entry ^_^

this will be my very first entry..and i think it should be about something NICE..

wanted to write 2 days ago but got a little caught up in some stuff..but i’m taking some time off of studying now, and i felt like writing something here…

i turned 25 two days ago on 13th of June 2008..scary as it may sound, this year’s friday the 13th isn’t all that bad..my groupmates and i decided we’d go out to eat somewhere for my birthday this year.it’s always exam season on my birthday,so we seldom get to celebrate my birthday..

the night before, at midnite, abah called me to wish me happy birthday.. i get to talk to my mom, sisters atie & yan, my pet sis – kak iman and her hubby who were at my house.. i was so happy~! then, came a knock at the door…i opened it and there stood ili and adilah with a kawaii choc cake! they hopped on to my bed,i talked for another few mins with my parents and once the call ended, we were already digging into the DELICIOUS choc cake..or should i call it browny? ^_^ and i got a cute bedside lamp as a prezzy from ili,adilah n jatdin..(i hope jatdin gets well soon..poor jatdin..) i made some tea for ili and adilah and we chatted…later, a friend of mine called from germany to wish me happy birthday too..thanx Chris! knowing that there were guests in my room, we ended the call about 10 mins later.. =p after that, ili, adilah and i chatted til 3 am~! t’was nice to have people around once in a while..they’re such darlings…i went to bed at 4am.. ^_^

the next morning, i woke up at 9am,bathed n got ready for an outing with my crazy groupmates.. it was 10.40am..kok king and I waited at the front steps of 5th hostel where we live for the others to come – shou zhi, rose, nantha & paliki…kinda sad coz faiz is not with us..he’s already on the way to moscow and will fly home that very afternoon~!! after waiting like 5 mins, we set off to the Meditsinskii Institut bus stop, waited for the big bus no. 30 and off we went~! destination : not 100% decided yet but we thought of trying out Malenkaya Yaponia in Pakrovskaya Street.. it took about 15 mins to reach Gorki Square..once there, we hopped off, some went to withdraw some cash and after that we walked to Malenkaya Yaponia..that was when i realized that i forgot my CAMERA~! omg~! luckily for us, uncle lim a.k.a shou zhi brought along his.. ^_^

It was 11.20am..EARLY i’d say..and the 6 of us stood right in front of the restaurant that just opened..we went in, grabbed a table for 6 and looked at the menu..not bad..after flipping through the whole menu with the crazy drilling frenzy beside our table, we finally decided on what we wanted. i ordered something called Unadju..a similar dish to that of Unagi-don in Tinkoff…plain white rice with baked/grilled eel on top..not half-bad..a set of sushi roll filled with shrimps and miso soup as entre..everyone else ordered some sushi rolls..and all of us had 3 types of tea – Earl Grey, Jasmine & Green tea…

while waiting, we snapped some pictures with the one & only camera available..hehe..what better thing to do,right? and we switched tables to another one a little further from the drilling work going on outside one of the walls of the restaurant..kok king was trying his best to angle the camera to get a view to capture a picture all of us at the table..just when he thought the camera was in place, he took a few steps away and the camera DROPPED~! shou zhi went frantically nuts for a few seconds and said something..and then koko said something..and the next thing i knew, koko just made a face…awww…he was sulking…it lasted for like 15 mins or so..and shou zhi tried to be ‘nice’ to koko..it was funny, really…but koko didn’t budge and kept the sulky face on, which made me a little worried..

then came the food, and koko was all smiles again..saved by the FOOD! ^_^ kok king ordered an interesting sushi role set- a sweet one..filled with what i think was kiwi, strawberry, probably peach,some dried coconut covers the outer layer and it has a sauce which added a creamy taste..it was different but delicious! rose, paliki, nantha and shou zhi ordered some sushi rolls with sashimi..looked yummy to me..

after stuffing our tummy, we left and strolled along pakrovskaya street..looking at horses’ u-know-what and laughing away~! it was hot~! 32 degrees~! whoa~! we even went to check out this sweet cafe – PENTHOUSE CAFE..the interior was nice…made a note to go there next time..yey! we passed by Megafon and was walking towards McDonalds when my groupmates said they wanted to go into a florist shop..it is summer anyway..and it was HOT! the air-conditioned shop sure was a relief..and guess what? they were so sweet and told me to pick some flowers so it could be made into a bouquet. i took 6 flowers that represent each of my beloved groupmates.. and the bouquet was cute! after that, we took the bus home….

a beautiful friday the 13th, no? all thanks to these special people in my life here in Nizhny – kok king, nantha, rose, shou zhi, paliki (and faiz who wasn’t there).. love u guys~! mmwacks~!
