Why do the chicken cross the road?

I just read this email (from Peter) and it’s so extremely funny that I have to post it NOW!!!

Read on!

BARACK OBAMA:
The chicken crossed the road because it was time for a CHANGE! The chicken wanted CHANGE!

JOHN MCCAIN:
My friends, that chicken crossed the road because it recognized the need to engage in cooperation and dialogue with all the chickens on the other side of the road.

HILLARY CLINTON:
When I was First Lady, I personally helped that little chicken cross the road. This experience makes me uniquely qualified to ensure — right from Day One! — that every chicken in this country gets the chance it deserves to cross the road. But then, this really isn’t about me…….

GEORGE W. BUSH:
We don’t really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to know if the chicken is on our side of the road or not. The chicken is either against us, or for us. There is no middle ground here.

LEE KUAN YEW:
We have installed crossing lights at all traffic junctions. All chickens should follow instructions while crossing the road.

SAMY VELLU:
Gantry points have been set up. All chickens wanting to cross the road are advised to top up their cash cards first.

NAJIB RAZAK:
What chickens? I don’t know any chickens… especially those from Mongolia .

ABDULLAH BADAWI:
We have to be fair to all chickens. Some want to cross over the road, some do not. …….. Zzzzzz …….zzzzzz ……. Now what were we talking about? Ah yes, chickens. We will form a Royal Commission to decide whether it is right for them to cross the road.

MAHATHIR:
Now even non-bumi chickens want to cross the road! How can they disrespect and disregard apa nama bumi chickens? We must be allowed to cross over first. It is our special privilege and no one can challenge that!

ANWAR:
We have enough chickens waiting to cross over in September.

SHAHRIR:
All foreign chickens are welcome in Malaysia but they must not cross over the road within 50km of the border.

‘Winged’ musings

With love’s light wings did I o’perch these walls, For stony limits cannot hold the love out, And what love can do, that dares attempt

-William Shakepeare in Romeo and Juliet

The literary subject can be really funny sometimes.. imagine wings growing out of Romeo’s heart, as portrayed here by Shakespeare, as it wanders over the vast gardens to reach Juliet.

Even in biblical terms, as described in Isaiah 40:31:
but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

wings are described as an object with which we can soar, to fly with…

Over the course of history, wings have always been an epitome of intricate, delicate beauty… of a profound conception only heaven upholds. Which explains why angels have wings, or so we believe.

baby+wings = cupids

human+ wings = angels

grandmother +wings =fairy tooth mother

elephants + wings = dumbo

sculptured stone creatures +wings = gargoyles

Note just how easy it is to metaphorically gratify sense of mystique by just giving them ‘wings’!

Angelic cat, with wings sprouting from its sides

As far as human attempts to fly had been since Wright brother’s first flight in 1903, there is stil, however, no attempts of a man physically growing his/her own wings!

Well, something else came up yesterday, admist waiting in quiet rows for our turns to witness a mitral valve replacement and an aorta-femoral shunt operation in the cardiosurgery department.

Looks like King here, has his own wings to grow too..

(It was actually the result of the bony prominences of his scapulas pressed against the white wall through the surgical suit =)

Seems to me that surgeons, after all, do have the ability to soar to great heights.

So, anyone in for a surgery today?

Thursday, early in the morning, I found out that there’s nothing left in my fridge. Gosh! It’s groceries shopping time again!

Haih…tat’s our life here…In order to survive, we need to learn lots of surviving skills…Cooking will be the most essential one…hehe! Not like in Malaysia ma, if we lazy to cook o anything, we can go out and eat. But, we enjoy cooking also…it’s not easy to prepare a dish, during the process, we manage to enjoy the sense of satisfaction when we succeeded .

After class, we rushed to the market nearby to pick up some goods…5 of us went together, K.K Tan, Farah, Nantha, Kok King and Rose…

It’s cold that day, around 2-3c and when the wind blow worsen the condition, smore we din wear thick ma!

But we enjoy the time being together, it’s been a long time that we din spent the time together d…hehe!

Autumn dream…

When the leaves turn from green to yellow,
our friendship remains the same.
When the leaves fall off from the yellow trees,
our friendship never shred.
When the leaves lay on the ground,
our friendship bud is blooming.

When the weather turns colder,

our friendship strengthens.
When the chirping birds are busy migrating,
our friendship has never evaporated.
8 of us are just like a small family, clinging on to each other, and share our laughters together.
8 of us are one and nothing could come between us.

Salam Aidilfitri…

Salam Aidilfitri

Filed under: Life — kkkochi @ 12:40 pm

I’d like to thank the PPIM for organizing the annual Raya Feast. The food, though wasn’t as delicious as last year’s (hehe but seriously), but it’s still tasty and the feast was quite enjoyable. This was one of the days that we get to gather together and take valueble memorable pictures with friends, seniors and juniors. And it’s also a day which amnesty is granted to all who sinned. Meaningful right?

“SELAMAT HARI RAYA AIDILFITRI. MAAF, ZAHIR & BATIN” (EID MUBARAK) to all my muslim friends.

As usual, the 3rd hostel was the venue of the event. All had to go to the 4th floor to get the scrumptious food, go down to the 3rd floor to eat, and the 2nd floor was made as a place for “sembang-sembang”.

Lots of flash lights bursted along the corridor. And the phrases “Ready, 1 2 3 cheese!”, “Eh eh, help me take a picture”, “Please go away, we wanna take pictures” etc could be heard from proximal to distal places.

Here are my pictures :

Dearie grouppie 531-A

Lope, Me, Timmy
Joyoki, Jatdin, Efenem, Me, NikKok Khai, Me, SaSa, KaKeat (top), Shyuan (bottom)
Random photos.
Me and baby.
Hui Ming and I.
Me and Shyuan.

So many valuable pictures were taken.
And nothing is more valuable than taking a picture of our MSA President doing this

Classic but whacky!

PS. : Anyone cirit-birit after eating Ayam Masak Merah? hehe….

Overpriced pancakes

Filed under: Life, Twisted! — kkkochi @ 12:32 pm

Remember the post where I introduced about Blinkom, the pancake place? View it here.
It used to be one place where every student likes to go for a pancake treat. But to my surprise, the price shot up extremely crazy after 5 months. When we went in there, we saw just a few people eating inside. 5 months back then, the place used to be full of people. It was so hard to look for a place to sit and we had to pre-book a place.
5 months later, the crowded place was so quiet and the pancakes sucked ass. One treat of pancakes used to be not more than 80 roubles. But now a piece of Snickers pie, a piece of pancake filled with bacon and tomatoes with sauce costing for 159 roubles.

Like Ka Keat always says “Nizhny likes to take away those we loved”. It is indeed really true. Took away my budget price and my favourite place for cheap eating out. *sob sob*
